I deactivated all mods in my modpack thinking it was an issue with one of them, but I am still getting this strange error on startup and I cannot play.
I really need to start working on porting my modpack to 1.18 but I cannot even start because of this.
Edit: 1.17 works fine, non-modded 1.18 works fine.
I found the answer, boys. (Assuming we have the same problem, anyways.)
We're bloody blind.
Ya need Java 17 to run it; if you don't have it, download it, then open Curseforge -- Go to the settings, go to Minecraft in Game Specific, and you wanna scroll down till you see ,"Java version used for installing modloaders," and you're going to want to click on that, and change it from automatic to Java 17.
I got mods to work, finally, by doing that, and I hope that this also fixes y'alls problems too, so you can enjoy some modded 1.18 goodness.
Little late, but I did fully acknowledge it might not be the solution to all the problems. Hope you eventually did get it fixed brother, cuz 1.18 modded is nice.

In reply to xerxaes:
When I did this, I got an error about specifying an alternate JDK/JRE version being no longer supported.
And now after deleting the other java versions from the folder, it's giving an error saying that a file failed to download.
