Hi, so I have been playing the ftb beyond pack. My game was stuttering with 4gb ram allocation so I doubled the allocation in the minecraft launcher window to 8gb, and it runs perfect, however whenever I come back to play the game lets say a few hours later, the ram allocation has reset to its default 4gb, so I have to keep on changing it.
Not a big deal at all but irritation especially if I forget to change it
Anyone have any idea why this would be happening and how to solve the issue ?
Wait a moment... I thpught that that was the only way to change the RAM? Zibafu how did you do it before?
The way I was doing it, was to load up the twitch launcher, click the modpack which then loads the minecraft launcher, from there click "launch options" then youll have the modpack and vanilla, click the modpack, then adjust under the jvm arguments line where it said for me -Xmx4096m
I was changing that to 81`92, which was fine but then next time I booted up it had reset.
You're the man. A year and change after your post, it's still helping people. I played through 95% of sevtech manually changing my client every launch. Each time thinking there must be a permanent way to fix this, but my google-fu was failing me and I kept seeing instructions to update the minecraft client. Finally I found this thread. Thank you!
As someone who did the same I felt really stupid for not trying this myself. Then I scrolled down and I want thank you all for making me feel less stupid, at least I was not the only one.

Cheers.
Curseforge/Twitch works so that you could use only half of all your RAM. If you have 16GB, you should be able to use 8 for MC.
well I have 32gb so that shouldnt be an issue haha
Well then that's really weird.
I had the same problem!
Make sure you're not setting it to 8GB in the minecraft launcher...the curse/twitch client overrides it with whatever is set in the client's settings!
In the client, go to settings > Minecraft and increase the slider for maximum memory allocation under Java Settings!
Hope this helps! :D

Yeah I did that too... Hahaha. I found the slider accidentally and thought I was an idiot.
