So I am using chicken chunks chunk loaders, which keep all my quarries, miners, villager breeders, power sources, redstone etc running at all times. Which is great. But wheat doesn't grow and mobs don't spawn in those loaded chunks unless a player is actually there. Which is kinda annoying because my main source of emeralds is my wheat and sugarcane farms and also my rubber farm works with trees growing. Interesting thing is a quote from chicken chunks description: "This mod adds a block called a chunkloader, when placed it will keep chunks around it loaded even if no players are nearby or even online. So now your plants can grow and your automatic quarries can run, even when you're not around." Also when you read the minecraft wiki about spawn chunks it clearly states that random game ticks don't happen in loaded chunks unless a player is there so naturally wheat can't grow and mobs will despawn if no player is near. So giving the description of the mod I would assume that it somehow simulates a player being there? But it clearly isn't the case, because mob and plant farms don't work. So is there a way to actually get it to work? Does anybody know`? I am playing on 1.7.10
Rather belated, but that might well have been a bug or limit back in 1.7.10. In more recent versions, it certainly does work. You might also check your config.
