I've been playing Minecraft on Linux on and off since Alpha. Now that Twitch has such a big ecosystem of modding for Minecraft, I would really love to see a native client for Linux.
Right now I'm just using MultiMC to create my own instances from the mod packs manually, but it would be nice to get the convenience of the Twitch client.
I'm not interested in the typical rhetoric about why _not_ to do this for Linux. I'm interested in seeing this actually happen. So to you, the reader, if you are going to say something along the lines of "Gaming isn't for Linux" or "nobody games on Linux", your comments are not welcome in this discussion. I am only interested in productive discourse of this topic, not beating dead horses.
until recently I've been using Vazkii's cmpdl which downloads from twitch in combination with MultiMC, I'd like to see twitch expand in the direction of including linux as well, especially as they're concerned with competing with Steam, which supports us. I suspect however that market share is too small for them to really care about us. I saw posts from 9 months ago saying that they might be working on something, but no progress yet

Anyways, what can we do to make this happen? :)

Does anyone have a solution for downloading Modpacks now that they've changed the website?
Before it was possible to parse the packs Manifest.json and grab the files from
but that doesnt work anymore, as projects are no longer resolved by their projectId but projectName, which isn't part of the Manifest.json
