I've had minecraft for awhile now and decided to install some mods and try it out, but after I made the folder and all that, once I put some mods in it and started the game they didn't show up in the mods tab or ingame anybody know why it would be doing this. (I'm using the right version for the mods and forge)
I installed twitch app and downloaded few modpacks at a friend because i dont have internet at home. now i am left with one problem. i cant launch them in offline mode. Twitch app say "requires internet".. @Kashdeya you say "the easiest way is twitch" then what is the difficult way? im willing to try the difficult way if i can avoid using twitch.
As i wrote, i tried to launch them in twitch app offline mode it says it requires internet. The modpacks are installed and tested while online, starts without problem.
Sorry I'm such a noob but nothing on google search is being clear enough (or I haven't looked at enough sites lol) so how do I do the filing stuff I don't understand how to download mods and modpacks to my Minecraft world(s) (are mods and modpacks different in the way they are downloaded to Minecraft world(s)? If so, can someone let me know about the modpacks please?) I'm trying to download the Farming Harvest Modpack to be specific. Thanks!
Not sure where you received a "FTB Reloaded" file from following my instructions.
You do need Java installed to run the .jar file in Step 3; Run the java file and install it locally (client).
If you are referencing the mod downloads as the files you are unzipping, that is probably necessary depending on the mod you downloaded. If it is .zip, you will need to unzip/extract files to known location, then move those extracted files into your mods folder.
For installing mods on Java Edition you need a modloader, there is no way around it (Forge, Fabric, Liteloader, and consideration of which version your wanting to play, 1.12.2, 1.14.4, etc. 1.12.2 and 1.14.4 for example are not compatible, some times like with 1.9.4 and 1.10.2 cross compatibility was a thing but for Forge it's uncommon to have cross version compatibility, Fabric mods do have cross compatibility but it depends on the mod and more so throughout 1.14 to 1.14.4, not always 1.14 to 1.15.2 support). Once you install the modloader to your launcher after getting that modloader from their websites, put the mod in the mods folder (a 'mods' and 'config' folder should be created, the config one might later if the mod generates one, not all mods do have configs, configs are tweaks you can made like setting a feature from a mod you don't want from true to false or other things).
If you want a mod like experience but no modloaders go for datapacks, you download them, put them in your saves/datapacks folder (as simple as putting a resource pack or world into their appropriate folders) and work them out based on the details on the download page/files inside of the pack. Recipes you'll have a bit of difficulty with, without the page info (besides experimenting) unlike mods where recipes are registered and easy to view in JEI, NEI or REI.
Modpacks are to be installed with a Modpack Launcher (setup the Twitch, MultiMC, Technic, FTB, etc. launchers and just select a modpack to download, the modpack will be setup for you once it's done). The Vanilla/Mojang launcher is only useful when it comes to modding for installing the modloader and putting mods in the mods folder, modpacks and the Vanilla launcher have nothing in common and won't do anything. If you get a modpack from curseforge with a manifest and other files (which is standard for modpacks on curseforge to get packaged before unloading their files/following the mod downloading process) you'll want the Twitch launcher to import it.
For Pocket Edition/Mobile I think you need Block Loader or maybe things have changed, best to ask on the MCForums in that area of threads or try some videos on Youtube, I've never had Pocket Edition/known much about modding Minecraft on a phone so I don't know for sure if it's still the same, or if mods are for before the Bedrock version of Mobile.

The easiest way to do it is to use the Twitch App located at https://app.twitch.tv/
once you have it all setup just go to the Mods Tab and pick minecraft. this will allow you to make your own pack, download packs from curse and so on.

You should be able to play them in offline mode if they were already downloaded. Twitch is easier than manual mod setup.

Do modpacks have the same procedure as mods? Just put them into the mod folder?

I used to be very dumb |:
You will need Forge in order to run Forge mods.
So, I want to download a certain mod.
Little tiles.
I've downloaded it but have no clue where to put it in my phones files in order to play with it.
Help??
Your should look it up on youtube.

You need to select the Forge version in the Minecraft Launcher, then hit play
