I just noticed a bunch of emails from Curse stating that I had to give them my tax information. Why is this suddenly happening? I haven't had them ask me this before until very recently.

This is due to Twitch buying Curse in 2016. Amazon, which owns Twitch, requires tax information for the IRS before making any payments.
