Fastcraft is undoubtedly an extremely useful mod. The only issue is that the dev for it is very closed off for licensing. Does anyone know if he will open up a bit in the future so we may have it natively in our modpacks?
I can see that big packs like FTB are allowed to have them even though curse states your not allowed to which is understandable.
To be honest, I do not yet understand. A pack submission of mine was recently denied because it included fastcraft. On the other side, a small subset of packs on Curse do contain fastcraft. Is this just a marketing orientated push diverting "top packs" from regular community packs or is there an actual thing i missed while including fastcraft? ( I did precisely comply to the Author's redistribution rules by stating
This pack contains Fastcraft, by Player, enabled by default. Fastcraft enhances Minecraft with increased performance. Bug reports being made directly to Mod Authors should state Fastcraft is enabled.
I asked this question directly to the Curse Person rejecting my submission. A few days have passed with no reply, so I have to utilize this public, related thread. Technically seen, fastcraft does get delivered via Curse's CDN as of today. Therefore I don't expect a direct licensing issue.
I think what curse did is allow the big name packs like feed the beast to follow their own rules to encourage them to move onto the curse voice launcher.
I do think your right that curse is ignoring this topic a little too much because time has passed since they were first starting out. Curse is a big name in the modpack/mod distribution race now and they should have consistent rules. Or atleast have it written clearly somewhere what defines a "premium" modpack like feed the beast.

Any packs submitted through CurseForge have to follow the stated rules. FTB packs are not submitted through CurseForge, they are converted to the correct format through a script and mirrored on CurseForge. The rules are posted in the knowledge base : http://authors.curseforge.com/knowledge-base .
FTB is mirrored to CurseForge, not submitted through CurseForge. Modpacks submitted through CurseForge with third party mods have to meet the license requirements of those mods. Fastcraft will only be allowed if the license changes or if Player chooses to upload to CurseForge.

So If I Get A ModPack On FTB Then I Could Have The Rules Of FTB When Submitted To Curse?
