In these past week I have been having fun playing Thaumcraft and it took me a while to find out how it all worked, about half of a week, but then when I finally got those orbs that I can put on the wand, have forgotten what they where called...

I looked all over the place, all over google and all over youtube and they all said "Hold the F button then chose the orb of wich element you want to use on your rod" and so I did, but nothing happened

So what I'm i doing wrong?

The version of Thaumcraft I'm playing in the newest one that I got from the ATLauncher 3.2.3.1 DNS Techpack 7.8.3.2

They're called Wand Foci.

It's possible that the key was rebound to something else..

From the wikia page:

A wand or staff, but not a scepter, can be equipped with any of several wand foci. When the focus-equipped wand is right-clicked, it will activate the special ability ("spell") of the focus, using up vis. Wand Foci can be stored in a Focus Pouch, which keeps them all in one inventory slot, or even in the Baubles belt slot. To switch between the Wand Foci in your inventory, press 'F' (configurable) with your wand in hand, and you will see all your foci arranged in the middle of the screen, where you can move the cursor to pick a new one. 'Shift-F' will remove your current focus without putting another on.

Okey, then what in the setting do i change to have it work?

Haven't played in a long time with Thaumcraft. But the best would be to look in Controls for it.
