I'm trying to update the Atonement pack by Iskan_Dar and I get the message 'A file is locked by another process. Cannot update this profile' every time I try. To be clear, I even get this on a fresh boot of Windows where I have done literally nothing but open curse and then click update. No Java process is currently running. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? AFAIK this update is just a simple config change.
Edit: Just thought I'd mention that this happens with all packs, not just Atonement.
Click on the pack (not play) when it goes to next screen look for a box with 3 dots, click on that and then profile options. You will see the toggle to either lock or unlock the pack.

I know a I'm a bit late (heh) to the party, but if anyone in the future has this problem (or a 'file already in use') and the previous solutions don't work, first make sure onedrive isn't syncing your documents folder (although I doubt this will cause a problem, but you never know) if you have one drive installed and curse is in your document folder.
Second the thing that actually worked for me is to got to your curse folder > right click > properties and make sure a) It's not in read only mode and b) you permission to read\write it in the security tab.
so i just had this issue with the twitch app trying to update Sevtech ages to 3.0.8 and have been searching for a fix for like 2 weeks after doing restarts and many others solutions i ended up fixing it my self by doing something so simple just go to the app and in the top left there will be 3 small bars EG the main setting for the app click it and go down to the help bar and at the bottom of that extension you will see ( Clear Cache and Restart ) click that and it will restart the app and you should now be able to update the pack. hope it help's anyone still having this problem.

thank you for the really useful info
That's What I Do!
Didn't work for me, got any other solutions?
You Could Reinstall The Pack!
Try the following:
XXXX being your user account on your system.
On Some Older Systems "C:\Users" Is "C:\Documents and Settings", And On Some PC It May Not Be "C:\"
