I'd like to see a mod where the Furnace, hopper, lever have wood counterparts.
Because they are wood, they should be burnable, and have damage applied when they are used.
In the case of a furnace made of wood, I think it should have a 5% chance to catch fire and disintegrate. If it catches fire, it should have an additional 1% chance to ignite the the blocks surrounding it for each 100 units of fuel in it. Ofcourse the fuel should be burned up. Also, it should be damaged based how often it is used.
The hopper should be damageable too and be limited to a certain amount of items flowing through it before it disintegrates. It should exhibit all of the features of the normal hopper however, except that it should move twice as slow.
I would probably code this myself, but I"m gonna wait for 1.9 Forge to stabilize before I attempt it.
Should anyone code this before I release a version of it, I hereby grant you all rights to distribute it anyway that you please, except that you credit "Kreezxil of Kreezcraft.com".

Why should anyone want a furnace out of wood, if you can build one out of stone in 40 seconds. Sorry but this idea makes no sense to me
This from the guy who makes a jetpack where the 1st tier jetpack will blow you up like a nuke and wipe out the entire base if you launched from there. I was gonna do a mod review on it but decided it was going to be too negative.
Also, try thinking outside of the box. One could make an extremely slow progression pack, where you wouldn't be able to make the aforementioned stone furnace in under 40 seconds. There are already mods out for all the available tiers 1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.9, 1.9 and now 1.9.4 that do exactly this, making a stone furnace will require with those mods installed about 5 hours of game time.
I can see this being a great addition to those mods.
The point of my post was more for a wooden hopper, and of course your response would be "in 10 minutes you can have the iron and wood" to make it. If that is your thought on even that pelase see the paragraph in bold above.
