Ok so i recently made a modpack and everything else works fine except for the garbage collection task. So after a little while of playing it the modpack starts to use up to 20GB of memory. I have 275 mods in the modpack. So what i think is the garbage collection task is not executing correctly therefor not keeping it below the 8GB limit i have set the allocation to be. Instead it goes waaaay over that amount. So i would like to know what JVM settings i could set it at to prevent it from doing that. When the garbage collection executes it then makes the game show not responding for a few seconds. I have fixed that by using the default JVM settings for that. So what i would like to know is what JVM arguments should i use for a modpack with 275 mods. I also run this on a server computer with dual xeons and 32GB of ECC server memory. On there the TPS just flat out dies. So i would have to set a certain JVM settings in the batch file script that launches the server too. If you have some JVM settings i should use please tell me because i got like 56 people waiting on me to fix that problem. I just want to have the garbage collection task execute smoothly and have the garbage collection prevent the memory useage from going over 8GB. Or should i allocate a different amount like 10GB. If you have any ideas on this issue please help me.
