My game has been crashing pretty much as soon as i press play. I've tried updating my java (I'm on version 8) and I have uninstalled and reinstalled both vanilla minecraft and the modpack.
No crash report shows up or anything at all, I just press play, wait a few seconds. The minecraft launcher closes and reopens with the message "An unexpected issue has occurred and the game has crashed".
Can anyone help? i have no idea what to try next :(
The same thing happens when i try to open vanilla minecraft too :(
If you did all of that and even vanilla isn't working then it isn't anything to do with minecraft and the issue is with your system.... did you recently update your graphics driver? You can try rolling back the driver if so... if it has been a long while since updating that try updating the graphics drivers.... either way I'm almost certain it isn't minecraft itself or the modpack.
Another thing to try is uninstall in and reinstalling java.
This is probably related... as soon as I can I'll look into it further and see what results I get as this issue has now affected my minecraft as well... so you aren't the only one going through this... it'll get sorted out.
Confirmed my suspicions, both java and NVidia changed some things in their last updates and if you updated one and not the other java got broken.
uninstall all versions of java, reinstall the latest build of java.... the installer should ask you if you want to uninstall old versions, say yes.
reinstall your graphics driver to the latest build.
run vanilla minecraft with the console on. if it starts up ... FIXED....
If you get an openGL error and it crashes you need to roll back both your graphics driver and Java to a release before January because that when a back n forth cat and mouse game began with Java and the Graphics card companies Nvidia and AMD.
If the first doesnt fix it the second option should.
after I updated everything a second time my vanilla worked again but to get my modpack working I had to rollback java and my video driver which required a removal tool and a chat with NVidia tech support. It was messed up but I got it all working the way it did before all of these updates.
