First of all, give thanks for the work behind the pack. It’s GREAT.
It seems incredible to me, the degree of depth it has.
If you allow me, I propose that you include in the pack, the mod Erebus. not only, because it is a mod with an interesting adventure, also, pose a very interesting object wand of the animation.
Just a quick question regarding the quests. Are they user based or server based? Meaning if one person on an SMP server gets quest A is it just for them or would everyone advance?
i don't know if this is new to 3.4.1.4 but if your having problems with craft recipe check to make shore you have went to the questbook tab and have clicked clam on the quest tab you have unlocked before complaining that recipes are not unlocked
I'm trying to play this with my daughter, and sorry if it's been asked but I searched and can not find an answer. How do I get both players on the same island to play together? I'm using a lan connection and she can join my game but can't get to my island. When we try and teleport her it says that she can not be that far away from her island/spawn. She hasn't even made an island....
Since I'm playing this pack, I'm experiencing more and more random issues that make things harder uselessly.
- When trying to go down a ladder, I'm regularly stuck and have to move backward and forward repeatedly until I can finally climb down.
- When left-clicking on a drawer, the game randomly picks two items instead of one. I'm not experiencing such double-clicks outside of Minecraft so this is definitely not a mouse issue.
- After my first random death today, the above issues seriously get me on my nerves, especially the ladder. I was near a display stand and suddenly, I started to take damage and died without any chance to figure out what happened.
- Regularly, the upper right corner of the inventory screen isn't working. I need to open a chest to get access to any item there is at that location. That also prevents access to the + button of the JEI recipe window. The only workaround is to set GUI scale from Auto to something else, but that makes font size too small, especially for in-game manuals. Sometimes, the issue vanishes, sometimes I can play hours and relog many times before it goes away.
- Since I started playing Immersive Engineering, the CPU fan starts spinning like crazy very regularly. It was unbearable in 3.4, but it continues after downgrading to 3.3.
Anybody experienced this, especially the first two? The death may be a one-off, I'm not sure yet it will repeat often enough to be a problem yet.
Modern Skyblock 3.4.1.4 seems to crash at the startup . Yesterday ( 15.08 ) game worked fine now it's crashing ( minecraft updated ) , disabled Gendusrty then Extra Utilities 2 crashed , disabled EU 2 and eux2 then FactoryTech crashed , disabled FactoryTech . Game finally started . New world works .
I repeat the same thing from the previous message, marked as spam, I guess from speaking Spanish?
Same problem that the others, does not start, says incompatible version, something was installed with the launcher and the following times I tried to open my world, I already gave the error. I hope you will communicate the solution here, thank you.
Same thing with other 3; hopefully you guys can fix this soon; another pastebin if you need it, this one is for genduntry https://pastebin.com/46Uc5eTY; Good luck
This is quite upsetting. If other packs started to suddenly crash as well, that may mean something got changed in the Twitch launcher, or even worse, in the Minecraft launcher. I had to downgrade to 3.3.1.4 a few weeks ago, because even with 12Gb of allocated JVM memory, the game was taking 95% of the memory, lagging like hell, then crashing. The 3.3.1.4 version still starts, although it suffers from many random issues that will eventually force me to stop playing.
I have 8G allocated and game works ok not not really lagging [( fps drop to 30 ) and some rf dimensions some are unplayeble 1fps , most are ok] but it does eat a lot of ram i have 16G . 12-14G are used by the pack ( Side note i do use sphax x64 texture for modern skyblock that maybe uses more ram ). Ram usage is high but the pack is big . I think you can disable cosmetic mods to lower ram usage .
Try switching it to using the jar launcher. Once you've done that drop it back down to about 6GB and use these JVM arguments to make garbage collection occur more frequently and less intensively, among other things:

1) I have never experienced this. Do you still get this without any armor/baubles on? Do you have nearby beacons or other beacon-style effects? Also you can try adding this mod, although that would mean unlocking the pack in the pack settings: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/faster-ladder-climbing
2) This is a long-standing issue with Storage Drawers since at least MC 1.10. I don't recall this in MC 1.7, but it may have started there, and almost certainly is a bug in minecraft, not in the mod. https://github.com/jaquadro/StorageDrawers/issues/601
3) Try listening to some angry music, beating up a pillow, and then doing something relaxing, such as quiet meditation. I find this greatly helps relieve any frustrations.
4) The "Auto" GUI scale is always bad for modded minecraft. "Large" is the only scale that's ever worked reliably for me. Not using Tinker's crafting benches usually fixes the JEI '+' button for me, and has the added benefit of not occasionally adding an extra item into the recipe.
5) I've never had this problem. Let us know if you find a solution. Are you using a laptop or integrated video card?
Looks like it was a change on Mojang's side that has been corrected. No problems loading modpacks for me. See @direwolf20 twitter over the last day to see comments on what happened, how the forge team tried to hotfix, and ultimately how Mojang fixed.
The pack didn't change. Something else changed recently. Could you please try disabling any resource/texture packs and letting us know if that changes anything?
Edit: Apparently Mojang has resolved the issue.
On an unrelated note, those are some crazy JVM arguments you're using there. Where did you get them? Some of them don't even apply to modern Java/modded minecraft anymore. You definitely shouldn't be using "-XX:+UseNUMA" unless you know exactly where and why you'd want it.
1. I am using Botania's Sojourner's sash. I'll try to remove it to see if that helps, maybe it is making climb down ladders harder. The problem happens when climbing DOWN, not up, so fast ladder mod won't help. I was having similar difficulties in Sky Factory 3, maybe because there is just a 1x1 hole with the ladder. But If I put a larger hole, I regularly fall instead of climbing down. The definitve solution was elevator blocks but they unexpectedly have been disabled in Modern Skyblock 3.
2. Indeed, I was having this problem in Sky Factory 3, but it seems worse in Modern Skyblock 3, almost each time I access a drawer. "Fix" was to switch to an inventory management mod, Refined Storage at that time. But Modern Skyblock 3 gated AE2 really far without providing any low-tech alternative such as Extra Utilities Indexer or something like Simple Networks. I'm sometimes considering removing the drawers and put chests or crates instead, but the controller is very handy to put the items back into drawers.
3. The "random" death was caused by an HV cable I used to hook up my Empowerer's display stands. I have access to no cables except these one. I put the wires below the floor so I should not touch them, but it seems there is a bounding box problem that caused the player to touch the wire through the floor. There are solutions: lasers, all sorts of cables from Thermal, Mekanism, Ender IO, but everything is disabled.
4. The GUI scale Large almost worked for me, except for in-game manuals. Last time I got the issue, alt-tabbing out of the game then back in fixed it, but I'm not sure yet it works all the times.
5. Trying to give more RAM (now 10Gb) seems to help, but I cannot go higher since I just have 16Gb of RAM in that machine. I am u sing a NVIDIA GPU and more and more wondering if the game makes use of it, maybe the 2D/3D acceleration works with just some games and not others. I didn't find anywhere documentation about system requirements telling that the game requires specific CPU, GPU, etc.
1. Fast Ladder Climbing does indeed help you go down faster too, but that doesn't mean it would help with your problem. If this is really a concern to you, you could also just add the elevators mod, which is just the elevator from open blocks.
3. HV cables can be insulated. You can either specifically craft insulated cables, or you can use the block that lets you send cables through walls which gives you insulation for free for a certain distance.
5. You should really use the JVM switches I provided earlier. Modern Skyblock 3 needs no more than 6GB when Java is configured correctly.
Minecraft uses OpenGL, which is definitely hardware accellerated on nVidia architecture. However, unlike the majority of other games you'd play, it's not rendering that is taking the most computation. All of those modded blocks take alot of computation, which all comes out of your CPU. Even alot of the rendering is processed by the CPU before it gets sent to the GPU. Honestly, the way that Minecraft is designed just doesn't really allow modded to take advantage of powerful video cards.
Thanks. I'll experiment with that. I keep seeing clues about bypassing Twitch to launch Minecraft, but each time I search about HOW to do it, I find nothing. Some posts mention MultiMC which seems over-complicated, and I even read that I would need a development build to be able to pass JVM arguments. I however found an option in Twtich app to pass additional JVM arguments and used that to force Twitch to use latest JRE instead of its own, so I will try to add the suggested arguments here.

Has the suggestion been made yet to add the mod: Pressure Pipes?
If not, I am suggesting it now!
It was in MS2 and it was really nice. No lag, fast fluid transfer, and that gorgeous infinite water source.
Speaking of infinite water source, are there currently any good ones from which I can just pump without limit?

These settings should help greatly on a modern CPU, but may bring a potato to its knees. Please use JVM arguments responsibly.
