I'm playing the 1.12 latest version. I'm at the point where I need astral sorcery to make empowered palis (lapis) which requires star dust. I've created a floating crystal via transmutation and placed it at about Y=185 a few blocks above a vanilla crafting table. However, this never triggers the ability to craft the extra stuff in the mod. Might be related to https://github.com/HellFirePvP/AstralSorcery/issues/143 , where certain modifications break the mechanism? I've watched and read a bunch about the mod and it seems like it should work, I also did it above one of the glowing areas floating around with no effect. It seems like once you have the wand and the Luminous Crafting Table then you can continue regardless at your base. Note that crafting table doesn't seem to have a JEI recipe. Am I missing something?
Edit: I guess that rain and location on the map might affect the output? Seems you have to forcibly link crystal to the table to get it working? (It's specific to the pack I think, vs. tutorial videos where the crystal is in a temple).
I'm a the point of needing quartz, I've tried both compressed and non compressed netherrack, the drop rate for compressed is 1 for the 9 blocks of netherrack. Non compressed I hardly get 1, I need heaps of quartz for the next stage, is there a better/faster way to get quartz that I've missed?
Bulk netherrack production: you'll want a combustion collector and quick dropper on your combustion heater; use bronze device and bronze or steel casing if you have steel. Hook up to at least several tech reborn windmills. Then you can drop 64 cobble + 16 blaze powder at once and flip a level rapidly to convert to netherrack. Compress it, when using compressed hammer on it hold the tilde or whatever key for the veinminer-like plugin, you can rapidly setup and break 2x2x2 compressed blocks that way. While the non-compressed yields about 50% more per block, it's just too tedious to do it that way. Your mob farm should be making stacks of gunpowder to make blaze powder from, so you should be able to do it in bulk.
I am at a loss how to make stardust for the first time. The altar requires an actual bucket (not clay) but the rolling machine needs empowered palis which needs stardust. I've tried using the liquid starlight in world to transmute stuff. Both of the lenses (the "proper way" to direct starlight into iron ore to make star metal ore) require the alter that requires the bucket. Mod has minimal docs so not sure how one would direct energy to perform the conversion with the non-gated items available.
LOL - how silly of me. After a couple hours I figured out that I have to LINK the crystal to the ore to get anything to happen. I tried that initially and nothing happened but when I did it again then it seemed to work. You an link multiple ores to speed up the process it seems or at least queue them.
Btw, despite my ineptness with some of the mods that are new to me... LOVE you pack!
So... I was looking for the online guide wich was mentioned before but I can not find it. Is it not online anymore and can i only use the in game guide? Or am I missing something? Sorry if this has already been asked I could not find the answer myself...
Blue dye is needed for empowered palis, however the only way to get blue dye is crush carpet or wool at a 5% chance of getting some. Can this be increased or perhaps make it light blue dye as that just takes lapis and bonemeal, or even just crushed lapis.
Sooooo.... Been trying to figure out how the combustion thing works (I think I got it) and trying to figure out how to make torches. Then this happens.... (after the blood moon). That's 36 deaths for those keeping count. I think I did get a good sword for a skele ,though...
But, I've passed that point now - just waiting for trees to grow (constant shifting doesn't do much, unlike what I see on some videos)), and making workbenches for a cobble gen (because they don't burn).
I'm trying to use the empowerer, but it doesn't seem to work, it should start by itself after putting the items in, right? All the stands are full of 80k CF.
Yeah, with blocks, it's a bit buggy. There is no laser beam as the buffer is continuosly being drained, meaning it also takes around 5min. You can see particles though.
