A couple small recipes changes that make a big difference
Can you be more specific? Do I need to start a new world for these changes to affect gameplay?
Does anyone know which mod adds the saturation bar to the HUD? Currently it only stays visible for the first few seconds of a session and I'd like to get it to stay visible permanently, but I don't know which mod it is.
(I really hate how aggressive this forum is about merging multiple posts into one - this third post was literally made half an hour after the first one)
Is anyone else getting JVM crashes while browsing the Immersive Engineering in-game manual? It doesn't happen instantly, but looking through the various pages of the manual for more than half a minute or so will invariably crash java.
If it's not just me then I'd like to post an issue for the modpack. Otherwise it would probably be better for me to just post it directly to the mod.
*Update:* The IE github indicates that this issue was caused by (and fixed in) Immersive Petroleum (back in July). Do we have the latest version of IP?
They look to be normal recipe changes, so you don't need a new world to see them.
When he says "small recipe changes that make a big difference", I'm seeing nerfs. :)
For instance, the Tertius Alchemical Dust now takes Empowered Palis instead of just Lapis in the recipe. Small change, but definitely puts it later in the chain, and MUCH harder to make now.
An Iron Casing now takes a Reinforced Casing now instead of just a sturdy casing. And of course the Reinforced Casing needs a sturdy casing along with refined iron plates and invar plates. And interestingly, you can't make the refined iron plates in the tech reborn compressor. Hopefully that's just an oversight.
The Advanced Circuit needs AlumBrass dust instead of just Brass dust now.
The Mixed Metal Ingot got a strange recipe change for the x3 recipes. They got removed and a new x1 recipe was added. I wonder if all the x2 recipes were meant to be removed as well. I don't really see a reason to use the new recipe when the x2 recipes still exist.
So i think i am stuck i can't get the Industrial blast furnace hot enough as the advanced machine casings need data control circuits. To obtain these i need Dark Matter witch in turn requires the same tungsteel that i cant get.
Any help would be appreciated.
The mekanism version the " elite control circuits" have been disabled.
It is iridum you need, there some info about that on the uv matter page in the guide, you need cinnabar you make that with gold ore (5%) or redstone ore(25%) in the induction smelter, then when you smelt platinum ore you will get an iridium ingot.
As an addition to kiwi's iridium explanation: make sure to upgrade your pulverizer (in which you grind your gold ore for cinnabar) to resonant and give it four 'increase output' augments. Upgrade your induction smelter as well and transfer the augments from the pulverizer to the smelter when you smelt your platinum ore with the cinnabar. Cinnabar is more than doubled and iridium almost doubled, so the end result is about 5x.
A full 34 advanced casing blast furnace gives over 3200 heat. So you can probably get away with making 8 sets advanced and 1 set of the lowest tier casings. The two lava sources in the core are not required; they don't do anything.
So far the pacing of progress has been excellent. Random jvm crashes and world breaking updates (I decided to stay at 2.4.3, done with the updates) are a major downside to the pack, but otherwise it is great fun.
Having crafted my first dark matter batch I've been looking ahead into the progression. It remains quite challenging. Sky Resources is maxed now, but to progress into Draconic Evolution and Mystical Agriculture from there you have to up the dark matter production quite a bit. Thankfully not continuously. Once you have the end portal built you're mostly done with dark matter. So far so good, it is a nice challenge.
But then we enter creative territory. And I fear things take a turn for the impossible there. All creative recipes require an insane amount of chaos shards. I'm not sure if Brandon has fixed the chaos guardian yet, but even if he has, the amount seems simply impossible to obtain to me. It would require hundreds if not thousands of chaos guardian kills. PO Kappa mode was considered ludicrous for requiring 10+ kills and that was with chaos island spawns doubled (and a working guardian). Any thoughts on this?
For the blast furnace, I did 8 advanced casings (tier 3), all the rest reinforced casings (tier 2). This gave enough heat to do the tungsteel. That was a lot easier than doing more advanced casings.
The vacuum freezer is craftable, but doesn't seem to work in 2.4.4, so I ended up using the gelid cryotheum method with a magma crucible / fluid transposer combination setup (that I needed anyway for enderium, etc).
The vacuum freezer is now apparently a multi-block structure requiring a 3x3 (9 total) of reinforced casings directly under it. Vacuum Freezer sits on top of the central reinforced casing block. I ended up removing the top 3x3 of Advanced Casings from the Blast Furnace multi-block structure and replacing it with reinforced casings and sitting the freezer on top of that.
Honestly, not really. I am not upgrading the pack. I barely have it running as it is (just had another jvm crash, afk for dinner with only the condenser pooping out some ingots, nothing else active).
That obviously won't fix all problems (such as the Immersive Engineering Petroleum manual causing JVM crashes), but it goes a long way towards keeping the pack from behaving bizzarely. As with any java args, be sure they are applicable to your system before applying blindly.
As for Tech Reborn, the Tech Reborn wiki covers almost everything you need to know, and anything that isn't covered can be gleaned from the old Gregtech 2.78 documentation.
The beheading upgrade has a recipe. If it's not crafting for you it's because you aren't making the cleavers correctly. Don't forget they also need to have beheading II on them.
Is it intended for the storage crate upgrade (the thing you craft with the storage crate to transform chest into storage crates) to upgrade multiple chests?
Also, it seam to make half the item of a chest vanish during the transformation. The storage crate are pretty glitchy too when receiving item from Ember item vacuum hoppers.

Quick question: Is the beheading upgrade for the mob masher not craftable by design?
Great pack, pacing even in the later stages is great so far. Thank you for all the effort that went into this!
