One only needs to look at the download numbers to see the player base frustration, 2.4.4 almost 6000 downloads 226 server packs, vrs 2.5hf just over 1000 downloads 56 server pack downloads. 5 version ago almost 8000 downloads 239 server packs. The changes are scaring away the players you can see it in the numbers. If he was to say 2.5hf is the last major recipe changing upgrade, then we call all relax and enjoy the pack in our chosen mode.
Yeah, I was mostly talking about your youtuber friends. However you failed to ou can turn anymention that with MagnetiCraft, the Iron Casing in theory requires 14 iron instead of 23, you can turn any TIC pickaxe into a Bane of Cobble pickaxe to break cobble instantly, the bed recipe has been moved to expert mode, the probe isn't needed for the tooltip, creative items don't require the thousands of Chaos Shards they did before, the advanced coil recipe was moved to expert mode,... This update had many good changes, but yet you decided to mention the 2 progression changes. If the progresion of the pack is not what you guys want, then just play kitchensink mode.
Sorry that is a good point, yes there are some good changes too, and it is currently very stable, I'm not sure I'd spot any of those other changes because I'm past most of those stages. I think I was more irked because the change came just as I went to craft more extractor plates for my apiaries and really needed pistons. I do love the concept of different modes, is there a way for force the mode server side? when I changed the server to expert, the change did not show up until I changed it client side.
My youtube friends are complimenting you as they point out their frustrations, Scot says often that the pack is an amazing concept, when he says your evil he does mean it as a compliment, as in you've thought of everything like a evil mastermind.
This pack is rare, because its like no other, every other skyblock is the same old, same old, hence why I've enjoyed it so much.
I also agree with the others on the number of recipe changes with each release. I play expert packs like these because of the challenge, but the "moving target" aspect of the pack can be very frustrating. To be honest, I've resisted switching to 2.5 until the different modes are a little more "set in stone". From what I can see, the normal and expert modes are pretty much the same after a certain point. And I'm interested in expert mode, but I can foresee expert mode recipes changing further as you have more time to make additional changes.
I also agree that the pack should probably be marked as "unstable" or "alpha" until the recipes/progression are mostly set in stone. I think the main thing missing now is more details on the thought process around recipe changes / goals you have in making the changes. A change log entry of "A couple small recipes changes that make a big difference" is a little vague and frankly a little insulting. It almost implies recipe changes that will make things easier for the player, when the opposite is actually true.
One thing that I'd like to see is an initial recipe that is hard to make, but then versions of the recipe that once you make it to the next tech block are actually easier to make. We kind of have that with Mekanism circuits, but I'd like to see it for other recipes as well. Something like: A piston is really hard to make early on, but once you can make machine X (that takes a piston), there's another recipe using that machine that makes pistons easier.
It looks like the TinkerSkyblock-1.12-0.2.jar is missing from the server files, so the hopper recipe is broken if you play on a server with 2.5 hotfix.
Edit: Version 0.2 is crashing the server, but 0.3 works.
Thanks Merrem. I had noticed your post earlier before I built the thing and thought that would be the solution. All it did for me however was send CPU usage to 100% on 4 out of 8 cores. Reproducable, it stopped when I removed the freezer and returned when I placed it down again. The freezer never worked though, progress bar stayed at 0%. I tried all combinations of casings as well, just to make sure. I have a nice collection of casings now :p
If the setup you described worked for you, you have found a bug. The structure is supposed to be a hollow 3x3x3, so 26 casings. 20 of tier 2 and 6 of tier 3. The latter go in the center of each of the 6 sides of the cube. The freezer itself indeed sits in the middle on top. I’ve built that as well, by which I recreated your setup because that is what the top layer of the cube is, and the thing still doesn’t work.
I have a queen pumping out cryotheum now, so if I ever need to make more dark matter there is no problem. But it is kinda silly to build a big machine like the freezer and have it not work.
According to the source code, the multi-block is still a 3x3 of reinforced casings centered under the Vacuum Freezer. (Just 1 layer.) This worked for me in 2.4.4, and it looks like it should still work in 2.5... What version of the pack are you on?
Wow, major derp by me here. I was so focused on the GregTech structure for the freezer that I completely misread your earlier post. Somehow it stuck in my mind that the center block had to be advanced, which you never wrote. Sorry about that, and thank you for your patience. The freezer works.
The code does indeed only check for one casing type in a square or circular plane, either vertical or horizontal. Will probably need some work if they want to check for more complex structures with a specific layout of casing types.
Any help about the Ember Item vacuum gething clogged up on mob farm? it got redstone signal, it is sucking up item, but they just over in front of it. when i break it, there is item inside. Tried putting a chest directly behind it, tried with a item pipe from ember, even made the item pump from ember, but item just stay stuck inside. is it because it is sideways?
*Edit* Well, turned it downward like a normal hopper and it seam to work for now.
Yeah, expert mode is impossible on servers on the current version.
Sorry, no comment!
I love this modpack. It's different to other sky modpacks. Also we play at the expert mode.
@evereyone
If you have massive lags on Modern Skyblock 2 REMOVE all your Structured Crafter blocks. Each consume 15% of the server load balance (in any mode). After we removed all our Structured Crafter the lags was gone and the CPU load balance was going to normal value!
I upgraded to 2.5.1 this evening and I'm having a lot of trouble with all the ActuallyAdditions Block Breakers constantly crashing the server. It looks like I'll need to replace all of them with Mechanical Miners (or possibly other block breakers). It looks like they switched to a new way to get the drops and it looks like they didn't code it exactly right. I can get it to crash with just Forge and Actually Additions alone also. (I'll be submitting a bug to them in just a bit.)
Hey all, so is there any way to move from 2.4.4 to 2.5? I've tried but it instantly crashes on load. Did someone mention something about putting everything into Vanilla chests and rebuilding after updating?

Carry On doesn't seem to be working in 2.5.1 tried on storage drawers and vanilla chests was working fine last version
Edit: You can still pick up mobs.
Heads Up, When crafting the mixed metal ingot you get 311 of them. Probably not intended.
Just a heads-up.
