     Hey, there!

     

     As those who play Modern Skyblock 2 know, currently the pack starts off slow and gets faster as you play, mainly after obtaining metals. However that's not what it started as and it's not what I want it to be. Here's a list of how the pack changed over the major versions:

    V2.0 - a kitchensink skyblock pack with the most or at least somewhat popular mods (not as planned, but because of limitations due to the mods that were then available)

    V2.1 - had a bit more of a progression line as Recipe Manipulator was introduced

    V2.2 - got a really grindy progression line in which resources progressively get easier and easier, as CraftTweaker was introduced, and got an FTB Utilities guide as there were no questbook mods then

    V2.3 - continues the trend of 2.2

    V2.4 -  creative items were made somewhat craftable

    V2.5 - introduced the idea of packmodes with which the grindy stuff got moved to expert mode

    V2.6 - got a complete questbook

    V2.7- moved to version 2.1 of Sky Resources with which resources became much easier

     

     What did I want the pack to be like? Well, as Sky Resources 2 itself started as a mod that had a progression line in obtaining resources, I wanted the pack to be built around that progression line. However, nowadays the mod is different and the progression line I've layed out doesn't work with it. If you're wondering why I don't just configure it and change recipes for the mod to be as it once was, the simple answer is that, since it's the main mod, I want to keep it as unchanged as possible so that everyone can experience it for what it really is.

     

     In my mind, Modern Skyblock 2 was never supposed to be grindy as it was from 2.1 to 2.5, but it was also supposed to have a long, not always linear, immersive progression line which takes the player through almost every part of every mod. Currently the pack is half of that and I simply cannot change that without completely changing its progression line. But that wouldn't be the pack you all know anymore, would it? So, I am stuck.

     

     But let's go back for a moment, shall we? Modern Skyblock 1 was just a kitchensink pack for most if its existence. It only actually had a progression line for 10 versions and it was horrible. It was really grindy, but once you made a bucket, it became kitchensink again.

     

     Modern Skyblock 1 was possibly my worst pack, but it taught me many things. Learning from my mistakes, I made Modern Skyblock 2, but what did that turn out to be? An impossible idea? An everlasting voyage? A player continuously looping through the void? Or maybe... just something different..

     

     And what about me as a pack maker? I feel like I could have done better, I feel like I wasn't honest enough and like I sometimes let my irl problems affect the pack and its community.

     

     I believe that this is where I let Modern Skyblock 2 go and start working on a new pack, one which has a progression line based around mods and not basic resources. Modern Skyblock 3, perhaps? Either way, I am going to release 1 more minor update for Modern Skyblock 2 and we'll see what happens next. So, I hope that you stay tuned, for whatever I do end up making next.

     I just shared this to the people in the Discord channel, so as you asked at the prefect time:
    I added the initials of the page that the quest belongs to to every quest. This way it's short, not distracting and sometimes funny.

     That simply isn't possible. Not matter if the area is chunkloaded or not, there needs to be a player 25-40 blocks away for something to spawn.

     On the bright side, you didn't lose as many things as you would have if I removed it next week. Though, the last time I switched between thrm only the patterns were removed. I just hope that you weren't in expert mode as that would suck.
