Woot! I'm glad you found the solution. Were the items dropping on the ground? I don't really understand why a well stocked colossal chest would lag things, but I never use them.
FYI, I wasn't suggesting that you *play* without chisel, just back up the world and try it without chisel, to rule it out. I'm glad it wasn't neccessary though.

    Hi,

Since I upgraded to 3.4.2, I am getting many delays in the game, when opening chests, crafting stations, picking items from drawers and even flipping levers. It takes 2-3 seconds each time. There is no delay when clicking on a vanilla crafting table. For chests, I observed that delay for vanilla and iron chests. I am using the Java arguments tuning the garbage collector and assigned 8Gb to the pack. Even with that amount of memory, the game uses from 60% to 75% of the memory, but that's at least far better than the 95% I was getting with 3.4.1 without the JVM arguments.

I have no Chisel and Bits constructions of any kind in my base, but I am using Chisel quite a bit. I didn't test if it happens in other dimensions such as the Nether or compact machines, but I will try it as soon as possible. I am working on the "Under pressure" chapter, so no crazy automation yet except a mob farm running all the time.

Sorry that I just noticed this. I remember a while ago the CTM mod was causing issues like this, maybe it started again? Try disabling CTM first, and if that does nothing, back up your world and try disabling Chisel. That will at least give you some ideas.

Hi, I need Ender Pearls so this is why my spawner is 3 block high. If there is a reliable way to generate pearls without Endermen, I could well lower the ceiling of my mob spawner and the problem would be solved.
The problem is that Endermen, for some reason, teleport out of the spawner, maybe because the spikes (4 diamond spikes, 5 iron spikes, in a 3x3 pattern) don't deal enough damage to kill them fast enough. The inhibitor obelisk could prevent such teleport, without requiring a Wither skull to craft, but I didn't reach EnderIO yet.
My bad, I thought you were talking about the aversion obelisk.

Some of the Mega Loot Crate items give an extra heart. You need to set up a mob farm with "Player Drops" (such as using diamond spikes) to get those, or kill mobs yourself. Maybe they also show up in quest reward loot crates? Or possibly only in loot crates?

I hope you can find it in your heart to enjoy the pack, even without a texture pack. :)
While playing make sure you read the quest information, the various mod manuals, and for sure the Sky Resources information guide. I see so many people playing on Youtube who make their game much harder than it needs to be because they don't bother to read the information available to them. For example, you can use wooden trapdoor on the top of your wooden combustion chamber multi-block to open and close it for dropping items in without having to break a block each time.
And make sure you check all of the tabs in JEI when you're looking to see how to make stuff. Often times the one you want is on the last page of the tabs.
Most importantly of all - have fun! :)

To be fair, it always seemed a little rediculous that the End Tether needed wither materials to craft. FYI, other than (normal) creepers, there aren't any mobs in this pack that break floating flowers, and even regular creepers don't break blocks in this pack.
I don't understand how an inhibition obelisk would help you. Surely if you didn't want endermen, then the roof of your mob trap would be lower? If your roof is tall enough to spawn endermen, then surely you want their drops?

The answer is still exactly the same as the last time I answered this question: upgrade to 64-bit java 1.8, set twitch to use the jar launcher, use the JVM arguments I gave you, and then either use a lower res texture pack, or give it more RAM.

I mean, if you're getting drops too fast then make your mob farm smaller...
Use factory tech to move your mob drops around. The auto-ejector, transport rollers, and the three different stack movers give you everything you need to get your mob drops into a drawer controller and your loot bags into the bag holder block.

Repeatedly tap shift near the tree to help the tree grow faster. Also sprinting and jumping, but that costs food. The pack also has ore excavation (default key is the "grave" or "tilde" key just to the left of the '1' above 'Q'). Hold this button down while using anything that isn't a vanilla wooden tool (metal tool, a piece of dirt, or even an empty hand will work) and it will remove all of the blocks at once of the same type, and drop them near you. This is great for breaking tree leaves for saplings, or tree blocks while harvesting your trees. Beware that this will also work on the platform you're standing on, so be careful.

This tells me you're not using the 64-bit version of Java. Here is a link to the 64-bit Java 8 installer, which is exactly what you want: http://javadl.oracle.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=234474_96a7b8442fe848ef90c96a2fad6ed6d1
Note, there is a small chance that you either don't have a 64-bit CPU or you don't have a 64-bit OS. If the 64-bit installer for Java doesn't work, then this will be the case, which is sad, but not a deal-breaker. You should be able to just remove the "-d64" flag in that case, although running 64-bit is vastly superior in an environment where a program needs more than 3GB of RAM.
That's good that you were able to get it to work. I won't know what the "fatal exception" meant without seeing the actual error message, but install the 64-bit java, use the JVM switches I provided, and try running the new profile you created (with 6GB of RAM allocated). This should run much better.
FYI, Modern Skyblock 3 uses more RAM than SevTech, and *way* more RAM than The Witcher 3, so it's not at all suprising that you could run those but have issues with MS3. However, I run MS3 with only 4GB of RAM (with no texture packs), using the switches I provided, although it's likely that this won't be enough RAM allocated in the late game.

This pack uses a ton of RAM, way more than any other popular pack. Recommended is 6GB. That's for the base pack. You are most likely just going to have to deal with the fact that you can't get away with anything other than a 16x texture pack. There is one other thing you can try, assuming your PC is beefy enough to handle it: First, switch to using the jar launcher (Settings->Minecraft->Jar Launcher). Then, at the bottom under advanced, use these JVM arguments to make garbage collection occur more frequently and less intensively, among other things:
    -d64 -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=80 -XX:+UseStringDeduplication -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+UseCodeCacheFlushing -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4

These settings should help greatly on a modern CPU, but may bring a potato to its knees. Please use JVM arguments responsibly. If these settings let you launch and start without a texture pack, then you may be able to use a better texture pack (32x or *maybe* 64x) by adding an additional 2GB of RAM (for a total of 8GB for the pack). Make sure you're changing the RAM settings for the pack, not in the global settings where you just added these JVM arguments. Assigning more RAM to other packs that don't need it can just make them run more poorly.

If these settings don't do it for you, or you decide you're too scared to try them, then you're just going to have to accept that you can't play this pack.

Hello everyone, I run a fairly powerful root server. This is already running a Modern Skyblock 3 server with 100 slots. The pack will be updated regularly.

    Modern Skyblock 3.1.3.3 Server

    IP: yt-gamer.net:25566

I am looking forward to your visit.

There's this server that's listed on the first page of the forum thread. There is no official server, and I don't know anything about this server.

Yeah, feedthrough connect, that's what I was referring to. That gives some free insulation. I guess that doesn't apply to HV? It's not a huge deal in vanilla IE, because HV is mainly for long-distance transport, but it becomes an issue in modded packs where you're actually using HV to distribute power to your machines.
Hopefully you find a solution. Thank you for sharing your findings.

Maybe the insulated HV cables are available only on recent versions of Immersive Engineering, or they are locked behind another stage. I will definitely have a look at the stages configuration file to at least know if there are insulated HV cables locked away.
That would be good information to have. Please let us know what you find.

     1. Fast Ladder Climbing does indeed help you go down faster too, but that doesn't mean it would help with your problem. If this is really a concern to you, you could also just add the elevators mod, which is just the elevator from open blocks.
    3. HV cables can be insulated. You can either specifically craft insulated cables, or you can use the block that lets you send cables through walls which gives you insulation for free for a certain distance.
    5. You should really use the JVM switches I provided earlier. Modern Skyblock 3 needs no more than 6GB when Java is configured correctly.
Minecraft uses OpenGL, which is definitely hardware accellerated on nVidia architecture. However, unlike the majority of other games you'd play, it's not rendering that is taking the most computation. All of those modded blocks take alot of computation, which all comes out of your CPU. Even alot of the rendering is processed by the CPU before it gets sent to the GPU. Honestly, the way that Minecraft is designed just doesn't really allow modded to take advantage of powerful video cards.
