posted a message on Spawn roof

    ForgeEssentials is a Forge equivalent of Essentials, a Bukkit plugin to change a lot of base behaviors, like the spawn location.

    It's a bit OP for this task, but if you can disable all the other features if you don't want them.

    posted a message on Mods installed but not appearing under mods menu

    Are you sure that you've put them in the right folder? Go in the resource pack menu and click on the button to open the resource pack folder, once you're here, go in the parent folder and check that the mods folder is where you put your mods.

    Otherwise, if you are using the CurseForge app to download/launch Minecraft, did you changed anything before launching the game?

    posted a message on Please help me to find the name of this mod!

    If you have ID like that I will guess Too Many Items, for <= 1.7 versions, if you are between 1.8 and 1.12 you can use Not Enough Items and after 1.13 you can find Just Enough Items to get that.

    posted a message on How to get player's Capability on LivingDamageEvent

    I'm not sure but you need to put it the server side. Also to get your capability (in 1.13 for example) you need to insert a value if the capability isn't found and if the source is your damage type, like that:

    // check the source
    if (ev.getSource().damageType.equals("yourdamagetypename")) {
        YourCapabilityType mana = event.getEntity().getCapability(ManaProvider.MANA_CAP, null).orElse(null);
        if (mana != null) {
            // Your mana capabilty exists
            event.setAmount(event.getAmount() + mana.getAttack());
        }
    }

You can look at the net.minecraft.util.DamageSource#causeArrowDamage(EntityArrow, Entity) method to get an example of DamageSource creation.

posted a message on Question about item.

    I think you can use the net.minecraftforge.event.entity.player.AttackEntityEvent event when the player try to attack an entity with the sword and if he hasn't enought level you can cancel the event and send your message but Minecraft's experience is more like a money than a level so it will be strange.

    I think the problem is the size, add some description, mod list and/or image.

    Go here if you want some example: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/modpacks?filter-sort=updated

    posted a message on Best Minecraft Hosting

    It's depend a lot of what you want to do with your server, for a large bungee cord with less-consuming server you will go with Virtual Private Server (VPS) or Dedicated Server but with a large-consuming one-server (like a beast with 300 mods) a dedicated server is better for that.

    If you have a good connection and a room to place-it you can buy a Dedicated Server to your home, a friend of mine have a HP Proliant SE316M1 ($180), to rent it will cost more that $50 a month but server-grade equipement cost a lot in power (400kWh x2 with redundant power supply) so in power it cost like $30 a month (with french electrical power price) and you need to give your ip adress to player who want to play on your server.

    (And the noise)
