posted a message on How do I make a .zip modpack?

So, I finally figured it out lol

Below is my findings. They may or may not be obvious, but I kind of don't care thought it would be helpful for anyone who, like me, has spent months ripping their hair out trying to figure this out.

For others with the same question, it's as simple as exporting a modified profile on the Twitch desktop app. Manifest.json tells the pack what mods to download when you load it the first time. The JSON file is generated by the Twitch app itself, so you don't even NEED to know what the file IDs are since they're generated by the app as well.

If you want to make it so that certain mods aren't mandatory, you can set that respective line to false in the manifest.json on the .zip pack. To see which mod is which in the JSON file (the names aren't stored there) open up the Manifest.html file, it lists every mod in the Manifest.json file, in the same order. Just count the order out and there you go :)

    Notes I've found:

Creating a modpack project here doesn't immediately force you to upload a file right away like uploading a mod does. You can create the project before you've added the last details of the pack.

posted a message on Critically broken movement rendering, unknown cause

I have no idea what caused this, but out of nowhere, walking causes the screen to...shake. I literally can't describe what it's doing but it's definitely not normal behaviour. It's also coupled with extreme lag spikes, and I really don't understand why. This lag definitely isn't normal since the very few mods I'm running all were running fine (with exactly the same config settings) just last night.

This first video shows what walking looks like:

This second one shows how the player looks. I used the GUI because it was faster than using F5.

As you can tell it renders the game unplayable. The glitch doesn't happen while flying, suggesting it has to do with the player being listed as on the ground. Zombies and Skeletons also have this glitched rendering.

posted a message on How do I make a .zip modpack?

Literally, I've been researching this for months and can't figure it out. The farthest I have gotten is a thread reply on an ancient thread here which was really helpful and even provided an example modpack to dissect/edit/whatever, and in the .zip modpack that was provided there was a manifest.json file, which contained the project IDs and File IDs of every mod in the pack. I already made a thread asking how to get those IDs, since they're not displayed anywhere on here or on Curse, but it didn't get any response. My current question is this: How do I go about making a .zip modpack? Is Manifest.json really necessary? How do I make something that can be uploaded here?

posted a message on Making a modpack file archive thingy to upload

So I'm trying to make a modpack to upload here, and on this thread's second post it shows an image about having a project ID and a file ID. I have the project ID for the first mod I want to add, but not the file ID. How do I find the file ID?
