Here's a screenshot of where you'll change that. When you open the launcher, click Installations at the top of the window, then click the button with three dots on the right side of the installation you want to adjust. When you get there, click Edit, then at the bottom click More Options. You should see the line highlighted in the screenshot. The circled five is what your current amount of allocated RAM is, so just change the five to whatever amount you want it to be, just don't change anything else. Then you should be all set!
Thank you for the advice. I think I added one or two new biome mods, so that's likely the reason. Also I couldn't tell you why they show up as notepad files, I really have no idea.
I don't know how to share java args or find the response time, unfortunately. I'm not hosting a server, and I've attached a list of the mods I'm currently using. And I have already updated the amount of RAM that Minecraft can use, and it's not using much, it stays in the 30% range in game.
I already have that installed as well. I might have to just remove some mods, but I really don't want to do that. And I'm playing on a laptop, so I can't really change anything about my computer as far as updating parts or anything like that.
Hey all! I'm having issues with my experience having a lot of lag/poor FPS/I don't really know how to solve this problem. I have a number of mods installed, and it's making the game run a little slow/laggy. But once I hit F3 for the debug screen, everything is smoother than butter, but only then. Is there a way to fix this? If I understand things correctly, Sodium should help with this, but I have that installed and don't notice an improvement. I'm currently running with 5gb of allowable memory, and it's only in the 30% range of use. If anyone can offer some advice, tips, etc., I'd greatly appreciate it!
