1. go to your project on curseforge.
2. click the file tab.
3. click the name of the file.
4. Click edit
5. then look through the options "Release , Beta , Alpha" select release then update file at the bottom of the page.
A easy way around this issue is to export the modpack via twitch send it to them via discord and they import the modpack.
I run ubuntu as well, multimc is good but ATlauncher has support post 1.13. I would recommend you try it out. It also supports curse modpacks.
