after I updated everything a second time my vanilla worked again but to get my modpack working I had to rollback java and my video driver which required a removal tool and a chat with NVidia tech support. It was messed up but I got it all working the way it did before all of these updates.

Confirmed my suspicions, both java and NVidia changed some things in their last updates and if you updated one and not the other java got broken.

uninstall all versions of java, reinstall the latest build of java.... the installer should ask you if you want to uninstall old versions, say yes.

reinstall your graphics driver to the latest build.

run vanilla minecraft with the console on. if it starts up ... FIXED....

If you get an openGL error and it crashes you need to roll back both your graphics driver and Java to a release before January because that when a back n forth cat and mouse game began with Java and the Graphics card companies Nvidia and AMD.

If the first doesnt fix it the second option should.

This is probably related... as soon as I can I'll look into it further and see what results I get as this issue has now affected my minecraft as well... so you aren't the only one going through this... it'll get sorted out.

    In reply to Lstc005lydia:

If you did all of that and even vanilla isn't working then it isn't anything to do with minecraft and the issue is with your system.... did you recently update your graphics driver? You can try rolling back the driver if so... if it has been a long while since updating that try updating the graphics drivers.... either way I'm almost certain it isn't minecraft itself or the modpack.
Another thing to try is uninstall in and reinstalling java.

A better study would be researching the behaviour of players on a multiplayer server with no antigriefing or better yet players on world of warcraft

posted a message on How to find what mod is causing freezing? 1.11.2

No opus for awhile but I've been using visualVM to track down issues with my pack... you can find a guide on using it written by MD_5 and even though it's really dated, it still works the same way.

I'm asuming you are testing in singleplayer so first I would determine if it's cpu or memory issue by looking at your usage for javaw in task manager and then do a sample for which ever is the focus and go from there...

Keep in mind this is a tool to point you in a direction and isn't going to tell you out right what your problem is .... but what ever is using the most memory/processing is likely something to look at.

You can find the guide here

Sorry for the ugly link.. I'm on my phone... also make sure you follow the directions and use the startup jvm argument.

According to the crash log an error occurred with a mod called advanced finders.

I would post this to there bug reporting site or contact the mod dev.

Keep in mind it may not be that specific mods fault and the error was caused by another mod that loaded first but talking to them is a start.

posted a message on Picky Players. Looking for reliable Mods for SMP server.

For moving players and entities... OpenBlocks Elevator is an awesome.. very reliable mod for 1.10.2... but to make return buttons and multiform systems you'll need a good understanding of Redstone wiring... even if using Redstone Flux wiring it's still basicly the same...

As for loading chests on that elevator and moving them... not gonna happen... I don't know of anything that can do that or ever has been able to do that... best you can do is use a chest transporter to hold the chest while you move but that's not the same.

As for cranes..... don't know of any mods like that either.

If you are looking for mining tech though... check out ftb direwolf20 modpack.... it has alot of tech.. so much it can be a little overwhelming but once you get a grasp on some of the smaller things everything else falls right in.

I'm thinking the new ores and foundry smelting and TCON's new customizable tools will facinate the hell out of you guys ... and I do believe it has the OpenBlocks elevators.

I recomend watching some tutorial videos on Tinkers Construct and Foundry as well as ex nihlo

posted a message on Custom Spawner for 1.10.2?

Im working on a new modpack and Im having an issue getting everything in it to spawn properly, of course this issue would be fixed with a proper spawner but the problem is, their doesn't seem to be one for 1.10.2, Aside from the overly convoluted Custom Mob Spawner. Before I spend days tweaking the hell out of CMS to get everything to spawn right without destroying the servers stability can anyone out there please tell me if Im just completely lost and that we are indeed limited to this one mod? Is there an alternative like JAS for 1.10.2?
