For anyone that comes to this thread trying to solve the same issue:
I haven't done anything except add files for more Minecraft versions and update my mod a few times. I can now search for it, so it may just take a long time to appear on search for no good reason, or I may have done something to trigger it. I think there's a delay between when the mod is added and when it is indexed.
