I have seen little bits here and there of mod authors skipping over 1.12.2 even though many did update to it, and one person saying that 1.15.2 will be the next big version with long term mod support like 1.7.10 was. Now I cannot seem to find anything backing that claim, which is frustrating as I do not want to spend weeks curating a modpack for a 'dead' version if 1.15.2 ends up getting passed over. I will be grateful for any information on this .
