More information can be found at iChun's Blog.
well coded Ichun, the 1.10 version is gorges! can't even imagine what will you do in the future, hope the best luck for you!
Great news! iChun has updated the mod to 1.10.2! see the announcement Here.
It is a great mod but can you plzzz update it to 1.11
pls update to 1.11.1!!!!
Are you going to make this mod for 1.8.9 because i'm currently making a portal 2 minecraft map i would like it to be in 1.8.9. And hopefully have the Material Emancipation Grid working.
This is a cool mod but sadly not supported by 1.8! :(
were is 2.0.2
I was just wondering:
Why did you set the keys for the controls in the config file instead of having them rebindable in-game?
Probably really really old code.
Though, even now, I'm using custom keybinds. It has support for multiple modifiers that Minecraft and Forge do not have.
It also triggers events for both key press and key release which I need in some mods of mine. Whilst this isn't an issue with Forge keybinds, it's the multiple modifier use that keeps me on custom keybinds.
can you at least add a basic UI to rebind them?
Could we get more versions please? at least 1.8.9, I've seen it in 1.7, but most of the other mods I want to use with it can't go back to 1.7. I know a lot of people need more recent versions, but even a slightly newer version would be nice.
i do admit i miss this mod and hope to once again see this mod in 1.10.2 or 1.11 minecraft.
Keep up the great work ichun
are you going to update
I'm having a bit of trouble with the 1.7.10 beta version of the Portal Gun Mod. I got the latest version(4.0.0 beta 6) from curseforge, as ichun.us is still down, and when I boot up Minecraft I run into a number of problems.
1. When I try to launch the game using iChunUtil 5.4.0 the game won't boot saying, "The mods and versions listed below could not be found: iChunUtil : minimum version required is 4.2.2" Perhaps I'm not even using the most updated version of iChunUtil, but that doesn't seem to be the problem here.
2. So I use iChunUtil 4.2.2 and everything works fine, until I load into a world. There I find that none of the portal mod sounds work. (i.e. the portal gun firing sounds, the music disks, and anything else) When I boot up the game using any other version of the Portal Gun Mod, like 2.0.2 for example, sounds play normally.
One reason I see for this problem might be that all the 1.7.10 beta versions of the mod are .jar files, whereas any earlier versions are zips, which possibly contain the sounds already, while the .jar file does not. Another reason might be because CreeperHost is down. I searched google and found a thread in the GitHub Issue Tracker about sounds not working and found a post saying(I'm paraphrasing) that all the sound files are in CreeperHost in the CreeperRepo and that the mod knows where to find the resources. Perhaps since CreeperHost is down, the mod can't access the CreeperRepo for the resources. This second one seems like the more likely one of the two.
If I could get a confirmation of one of these theories or some sort of reason for this happening, that would be greatly appreciated. And sorry for the super-long comment.
Oh, whoops... Just noticed my issue, or at least with the first problem: Version 5.4.0 of iChunUtil is for 1.8; the Portal Gun Mod 4.0.0 beta 6 is for 1.7.10. Whoops. However, I'm still not sure how to solve my second problem, about the sound. For now, I'm just using the 1.6.4 version.
EDIT: My sound problem is very interesting indeed, because when I was looking at a cached version of ichun.us I came across a post entitled "PortalGun 4.0.0-beta-6 released for Minecraft 1.7.10". Its contents included this little gem: "- Fixed issue downloading sounds". This leads me to believe that my second theory about the sound not working because CreeperHost is down is correct, because how else could the issue have been fixed before and not work now?
You need to download the sound pack and to put it inside of the mod's folder. It's called "PortalGunSound.pak", or something like this. FTB has it.
I tried puting the .pak file the mod folder and it didn't work.
You also need to have a mod called "Resource Loader", so it will load the sounds from PortalGunSounds.pak. The version that I'm using is: "ResourceLoader-MC1.7.10-1.3" and it is working fine for me.
[Of course I'm talking about how to make it works for 1.7.10 version of Minecraft]
